We have worked a lot behind the scenes the last few weeks. Now, 99nicu is upgraded to the latest version of the forum software we use.
In addition to a lot of technical things that's working better, you will notice that there are a new features... Social Networking! If you think that 99nicu becomes "Facebookish", you're not completely wrong :)
But, our ambition is not only to create a social meeting place for chit-chat. We want to offer a platform for professionals to meet and discuss neonatal medicine. To make 99nicu a busy community, social networking is one of several important features.
There are a few things I want to highlight:
* Your profile page becomes interactive and you can also customize it. Please visit my page to see an example. (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/member.php?u=1)
* You can create social groups (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_social_groups ). Click on QuickLinks in the navigation bar, or go here (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/group.php). Just to test this feature I created two social groups... if you are/feel Swedish, you can join the group "Sweden", and if you plan to visit HotTopics, you can join the group "HotTopics2009".
* In addition to the option to have a contact list (for those you send PMs etc), you can also make friends (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_friends_conta cts).
* You can create your own photo albums (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_albums). Please note that the personal photo albums are supposed to be more personal, while the Image Library (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/photoplog/index.php) is still there for educational pictures and illustrations.
The FAQ section contains a lot of information about all features at 99nicu, take a look there if you need help, or post feedback and questions in the Feedback & Support forum (http://www.99nicu.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9).
Best wishes from Stockholm :)
