How often do you use H2-blockers to prevent stress ulcers ,for critical il newborn or premature.thanks

Never, high risk of infection due to' antiacid therapy

We use H2 blocker onlly for treatment and not as prophylactic

Well whenever babies have blood stained aspirates (small aspirates) in critically sick as well as pretrm babies though after ruling out aspirated maternal blood but there is an associated risk of fungal sepsis as literature points towards predispoistion to Fungal sepsis after H 2 blocker

yes H2 BLOCKER r always used for treatment not for prophylactic use.
