I'm looking for an anaerobic coverage in a baby with meropenem.
Found it "incompatible"...in some references. Is this about the inyection site or a drug interaction ? Thanks...Regards.Leonora.;)

Very wrong. Redundant,
I can't attach the file, but there's a paper from this month (November or December) in Peds ID Journal, looking at appropriatnes of ABx use in the NICU.
Let me know if uou can't get it and I'll e-mail it to you.

Meropenem itself has excellent anaerobic coverage. So it does not seem rational to use meropenem and metronidazole at the same time

bringing in appropriate usage of antibiotics is a very difficult proposition, particularly when you do not have written accepted protocols; every time there is a prescription, there is always an explanation, however unconvincing it may be.
