Dear colleagues
Yesterday I became aware of this forum, and I think it is an excellent medium to announce research in the field of Neonatology.
Therefore I would like to invite you to take part in research concerning prolonged or chronic pain in the newborn. In the last decades much work has been done regarding acute and procedural pain. Prolonged or chronic pain still needs exploration. With the aid of your opinion and the Delphi method we aim at describing the concept of chronic pain in the newborn, including a definition and description of etiologic and diagnostic determinants.

You can find detailed information about the background and methodology on www.ceepain.org (http://www.ceepain.org). Furthermore, on www.ceepain.org (http://www.ceepain.org) you can participate in the first of our three-round Delphi survey. In this first round you will be asked to answer three short, open-ended questions.
As I became aware of this website only yesterday there is not much time left to get on board of this exciting exploration. The first round of the survey will close on March 26th.

With kind regards,

It would be interesting to hear if you managed to recruit responders here.
And, I am personally also very interested to hear about the results from your survey. Important topic!

Round 1 of the survey closed today with 125 participants from 33 countries, mostly from the anglosaxon countries (US, Canada, New Zealand, UK) and the Netherlands. This result exceeded my expectations, so I am thrilled to carry on with the subsequent rounds.

Round 2 will be opened on wednesday April 14th, and it will still be possible to register as a participant and value the statements extracted from the answers on the open answers from round 1.
