99nicu is an Internet community for professionals in neonatal medicine, set up by neonatal staff at the Karolinska university hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. A membership is required for access to all features. Membership is free and you can register as a member here.
99nicu was designed by a team affiliated to Karolinska university hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. Work related to 99nicu is made off working hours and 99nicu has no formal link to the Karolinska university hospital. Besides original members, the Team also includes several 99nicu Ambassadors. 99nicu has more than 2500 members (Dec 2009). Although the majority of members are neonatologists and nurses from the US and Europe, 99nicu is truly an international community. Our members come from all continents of the world.
About 50-75 new members register per month. The web site has an increasing numbers of visitors since the opening of 99nicu in May 2006. The domain 99nicu.org is owned by Stefan Johansson, through the company Laterna Medica (Swedish VAT-nr SE660620751901). Laterna Medica funded the initial costs for the setup of 99nicu, and is covering all costs related to technical maintenance, consultant services, software, PR etc. In practical terms, 99nicu is mostly funded by lecture honorariums of Stefan Johansson.
Technically, Laterna Medica owns the web site and controls the publishing platform, but has no copyright of the contents of the 99nicu knowledge database (see the Disclaimers page for copyright information). Due to increasing costs related to web hosting and technical maintenance, companies and organisations are invited to advertise on the 99nicu web site. Since Laterna Medica is the formal owner of 99nicu, all fees from advertising are invoiced through the company Laterna Medica. |
